On Thursday 15th October 2015 - Weldricks Pharmacy in the UK hosted a public outreach event entitled: Codemisused project: A multi-country exchange/research endeavor between pharmaceutical and public health research sectors to inform policy and stimulate innovation. The objective of this public event was to disseminate the findings of CODEMISUSED and educate the wider public regarding the potential dangers of codeine use, misuse and dependence. The event was attended by 43 delegates comprising a mixture of pharmacists, health professionals, and the general public. Presentations were delivered by three members of the CODEMISUSED team providing an insight into the key findings and recommendations emerging from the project, as well as an overview of their research experiences and participation in an EU FP7 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Research Fellowship Programme. The three presenters included: Dr. Tara Carney who is currently on secondment to Weldricks Pharmacy from the South African Medical Research Council; Ms. Anna Rapca-Veillet (Weldricks) and Ms. Mariam Deldar (Weldricks).
